Team Award

Citation: The actions & creation of this team prove that they truly understand what DI is all about. Their multi-use costume came apart to help solve different aspects of the Challenge and demonstrated a creative use of materials far beyond their years! This creativity was mirrored in the skit itself as the very diverse characters learned the value of each other’s uniqueness. Even the stuDIo Appraiser commented on the maturity of this young team’s teamwork as they came together to make their bike gear costume/garbage disposal materials. It truly was a pleasure to witness these emerging DI talents and their outstanding creativity!

Citation: The electric enthusiasm that this team exuded was palpable the instant they entered the room! Their bright eyes and smiles alluded to innovative and well crafted props & costumes and the probable performance to come! Not only were their fabrics draped into well thought out costumes, but the use of simple mops and electrical tape for their backdrop was stunning! The illusion of the depth and perspective was achieved by hand using electrical tape. The sturdy backdrop was engineered using the heads of mops! In addition to the staggering feats of improvised engineering, their vocal talents were truly the jewels in the crown! The harmonies resonated & we felt we had witnessed true talents in action. How lucky we were to witness such multi-talented young people that not only showed their vocal talents but showcased their creative & most capable engineering skills as well! We thank these true talents for sharing their gifts with us and the audience!
