Cheryl was introduced to DI at PTA meeting in 1999. Since that time, she has team managed more than 20 teams, from Rising Stars through to Secondary level. She has served as appraiser, Challenge Master and member of the Board of Trustees for NYDI. Recently, she had the privilege to appraise at Global Finals. She has recently retired from the position of Affiliate Director of NYDI. Cheryl retired from a career in process engineering and project management to be a full-time mother (and DI team manager) for her three children. Cheryl knows how DI influenced her children; they developed skills and confidence through their DI experiences that will benefit them throughout the rest of their lives. Cheryl wants to ensure that students throughout New York state will have the opportunity to experience the magic of DI for themselves.
To engage participants in project-based challenges that are designed to build confidence and develop extraordinary creativity, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
We inspire and equip students to achieve anything they can imagine in life.
We offer seven exciting standards-based Challenges in STEM, Improv, Visual Arts, Service Learning, and Early Learning. Each Challenge is open-ended and enables students (K-university) to learn and experience the creative process from imagination to innovation. In solving our Challenges, teams learn important 21st century skills which will prepare them for a brilliant future. Students have fun and gain confidence in their ability to solve any challenge.
