The 2016 NYDI Central Regional Showcase is an optional (but highly reccomended!) non-competitive opportunity for DI teams in the Central Region to practice their central challenge performances, practice an instant challenge, walk through DI tournament procedures, and receive feedback before the NY State Tournament.
The showcase will take place on March 19, 2016 at DeWitt Middle School, in Ithaca.
General Information
Please see the showcase schedule posted below!
Team Managers should review ALL of the following documents:
- Our 7 Secrets to a Successful Tournament presentation.
- Travel Guide for Teams, which has very important information about procedures on the day of the tournament.
- Team Manager Tournament Tips
- A Typical Tournament Day
- Picking up and Understanding Your Scores.
It’s also a good time to review your Challenge, the Rules of the Road, and any Published Clarifications. You should start completing your Tournament Data Forms.
Showcase Enrollment
Please remember that you may not enroll in the Showcase until your Team Registration is complete.
Team Check-In
All teams must pick up their packet at check-in before proceeding to their tournament venue. There will also be a form checker there to help you determine that you have the correct paperwork for your Challenge.
It is not necessary for the entire team to go to Check-In. Younger teams should come with a Team Manager and one Team Member. Older teams can just send one Team Member.
Each Challenge has its own requirements concerning when teams must report to the Prep Area. Consult the Travel Guide for Teams for details.
Central Challenge
Teams, supporters and spectators are all encouraged to see as many Central Challenge performances as possible. Come early, stay late, and support as many teams as you can.
Instant Challenge
Please note that Instant Challenge is not open to spectators. Only the Team and a single Team Manager may enter the Instant Challenge area. Teams are not allowed to discuss their experience in Instant Challenge with anyone outside the team until after Global Finals.
Lunch
There will NOT be food available for purchase at DeWitt Middle School. There are many restaurants just a short drive away or that will deliver pizza or other food to the school or you may pack your own food. It is your responsibility to make your own arrangements for food for your team.
Awards Ceremony
The Awards Ceremony will take place starting at approximately 4:15pm.
